Columbus Crew "Heart" Game & Pool Time!

On Saturday, our family packed up and headed to Columbus (about 1.5 hours away) for the 2nd annual Columbus Crew "Heart"Game. For those of you who aren't aware of who the "Columbus Crew" are - they are a MLS soccer team. At this game, a portion of every ticket purchased went to the Children's Heart Foundation. What a wonderful cause and one that is near and dear to our hearts!

They allowed heart kids and siblings to be "ball kids", so Alec was able to participate in that and got up close and personal with the players. He did a great job!

We had such a wonderful time hanging out and watching the game with family and meeting other parents with kids that had similar heart conditions and defects. We even sat right behind a couple who's son also has Tetralogy of Fallot (which is the heart defect Trista has). His name was Evan - he is 13 years old and doing great. In fact, you would never know that he had TOF. He was such a sweetheart and held Trista so that we could take a photo of the 2 TOF kids. It was such an encouragement to see Evan and hear his story. He will most likely have his second surgery within the next couple of years, so please add Evan and his family to your prayer lists!

Once we got home, we were all in desperate need of some POOL TIME and it was Trista's very first pool experience. So, I have this really cute bikini for her but she's still way too small to fit into it, so we had to dress her in a onesie for the time being...at least until she grows a little bit! She did great in the pool - she was really calm and loved kicking her legs under water! Hard to believe that next year she will be running around this pool! :)

I also have some pictures that I need to download this week of a play date that Talan & Trista had with their second cousins, Maddie and Annabelle. More to come on that later this week (when I have some time to breathe)!!! Until then, have a great week!
