Now on to Miss Trista - today is day #2 on her new formula (NeoCate) and we're not seeing a big difference in her reflux. It still happens as often as it did on the Alimentum and it's MUCH more expensive. We're going to give it a few more days and see what happens. If this doesn't work, we will be moving on to the Azithromiacin which is an antibiotic that increases gastric empyting. We'll see if they still want to also do the PH impendance probe that would measure the reflux. More to post later...she's starting to wake up from her "cat nap"!

My son Avery has really bad reflux and currently he is on Zantac twice a day and Prevacid once a day.......
ReplyDeleteWe tried Alimentum, Soy and Neocate and due to his really bad food aversions, once he tastes something new (and Alimentum and Neocate taste horrible.....yes I've tried it....bleh!!) he freaks out and gags himself until he throws it up........
He is slowly getting better with his medicines, but we still have our good days and bad days....

p.s. My cousin's son has what's called EE.....Has she been tested for this??? I know that it took over a year to diagnose her son with it......It's a tough procedure that requires her to be scoped....and with her heart, it may not be a risk they are willing to take yet......However, it is worth checking into.....

I just came across your blog through another one that I read so I am not sure all the details on your BEAUTIFUL daughter but I saw this about the reflux.... My friends son has to use Nutramigen and she has had success with that. I am not sure if you have tried this or of you can but just an idea. She also just found out a few months before her son turns one that insurance will pay for the formula (or a large portion of the cost). Just another idea if you have not tried it yet!
