When it rains...

IT POURS!

I'm telling you - we must be standing under a big, dark cloud! At the end of the week before last, our entire air conditioner unit & furnace decided to break so we have been without air for a week and a half now. Of course, it had to break during the weekend full of humidity and blistering heat. Thankfully, this past weekend was much less humid and cooler. We had to purchase an entire new system which isn't cheap (I had NO idea these things cost so much!!).

Needless to say, we've had a lot of pool time these past few weeks just trying to stay cool!

Trista had an appointment last week with her Physical Therapist, Cathy. We've been noticing that Trista drags her feet when she pushes her baby stroller, so we had Cathy take a look. Right away, she noticed that Trista has what's called hypotonic pronation. This will need to be corrected ASAP while her bones are still soft and plyable. So, Trista is scheduled to be fitted with a special plastic brace/orthotic on both feet at the end of August. These will attempt to correct her pronation by locking the foot into a static alignment. We are hoping she won't need to have casts on her feet, but we will see what they say when they fit her. Here's a picture of what they look like. Apparently, they even have ones with butterflies on them. I think we might have to get those! :)

There is also more that we've been faced with lately that I don't want to get into. Don't be worried - everyone is fine. I am just asking for your prayers. I know I have some great prayer warriors out there to help! :)

Now on to a few pictures of Trista. Here are some from yesterday. My mom kept Trista while I hit the gym and texted these pics to me - THANKS, MOM!!

Also, I had to share this cute picture. I walked out into the living room the other day and there was Trista...brushing her baby dolls hair with a comb. PRICELESS!!!

I think she might give my hair stylist sister, Nikki, a run for her money! :)

  1. Love the pictures of sweet Trista. My husband had to wear those braces when he was a kid and his helped cure his problem. So sorry about the air conditioner, that bites. We stayed with my parents a couple of weekends ago and theirs went out. Their air went out on Saturday so we only had to endure the heat for one night but I thought I was going to die!! You guys are in my prayers and let me know if I can do anything at all! Hang in there, hopefully blue skys are ahead.

  2. Hi Amanda!!
Thanks for stopping by and visiting me at Team-Ewan.com. It's been so amazing to meet and gain the support of other heart moms -- those who have been in the trenches and know what it's like. I'm so thrilled that Trista is doing as well as she is -- it's stories like hers that give us hope for Ewan.

Thanks again for stopping by, and I will definitely be following you here.
