Weight gain & other updates..

Our little angel has finally gained some weight! Woo-hoo! She's up to 14.3 pounds! Here's a laugh for the day...I was looking through some of Talan's old Dr. visit paperwork and he was 17.8 pounds at 2 months and 28.6 pounds at 10 months! Umm...I don't think I even need to say anything about that! LOL :)

Yesterday we took Trista to the plastic surgeon at the Cincinnati Eye Institute to talk to him about Trista's eye lid lift. There is no question that she will need one, but he doesn't see an immediate need. Whew! He'd rather wait until she's around 2 years old. So, for now, that issue is on the back burner.

After the plastic surgeon visit, we headed over to Children's for Trista's audiology visit. Great news! Her pink hearing aids are in and they are SUPER CUTE on her!!! She's doing a little bit better at keeping them in her ears. She just really enjoys chewing on them right now. They also did some hearing testing in the booth and were able to get a more accurate reading in the left ear. They have changed that ear from moderate/severe, to severe. They increased the hearing aid volume in her left ear to help. The only problem is there is way more "feedback" coming out of that one now (which means high-pitched noises that "leak" out from time to time). Hopefully we will all get used to that, though.

Tomorrow is a rough day. Trista is having a sedated CT scan to see if they can determine the cause of her hearing loss. We have to be there at 8am and it should last a few hours. She does have to be put under general anesthesia, so there will be an IV involved which is never easy for her. She has such tiny veins and it always takes them so long to get it in the right spot. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. Please pray that she does well and it's not too painful for her.

We are also awaiting the results from genetics regarding the Noonan syndrome test. We should hear about that any day now.

On a brighter note - our days have been spent getting ready for Trista's big birthday celebration next Saturday! I have been making things like crazy...I am way overboard when it comes to first birthday's, but hey - after all Trista has been through, this is a TRUE CELEBRATION! What a year she has had! I want it to be super special for her in every way possible. Her Grammy bought her this tiara and gave it to her this morning. I'm going to let Talan decorate it for her birthday. Too cute!
