Sorry I haven't posted in a while. We have been SUPER busy. I'm going to try and wrap up the last week and weekend, so bear with me! :)
As many of you know, Trista's reflux seems to be getting worse. In order to figure out what is going on, her GI doc had to order another test. Last Friday, Trista had to go back to Children's for a Gastric Emptying Scan. This was NOT fun at all! She had to drink some radioactive mixture and then lay flat on the machine for an hour straight (not even sedated) while they took images of the liquid empyting and measured the rate and which it emptied. Needless to say, this was a VERY long hour for Trista (and mommy too)! She was strapped down and wasn't able to move. I was able to get my hand in there to hold hers and give her a few toys to play with. So, normally the stomach empties 50% or more at the end of the hour. Trista's had not even emptied 30% - UGH! We needed to kill some time (an hour to be exact) and get re-scanned. So down to the cafeteria I went with a very unhappy, hungry baby. Here she is eating her hospital bracelet! We should get the test results back early this week, so we'll see what needs to happen next. Never a dull moment with this little gal!
On Sunday, Trista went to her first birthday party for her second cousin, Maddie. She was turning 2 and she had a Little Mermaid party. Oh man - made me start thinking already of Trista's 1st birthday....can't wait!!!!
We all had SO much fun! Here are a few pictures...I only had my cell phone camera, so the pictures are a little fuzzy.
Here is Trista getting ready to go!
That is a quick wrap up of what's been going on with us. I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful Fall weather! I'm going to leave you with our Fall mailing of the kids this year. Have a great week!
Hello, I just happened to stumble across your blog and started reading this post. I also live in the Cincinnati area and did the walk this past Saturday. I have never been able to find another heart mom in this area so this is quite refreshing for me. I will keep your daughter in my prayers. She's precious!!!

WHAT?!!! I just saw Dr. Eghtesady on your side bar! I didn't know that Ky and Trista had the same surgeon! Don't you just love him? I was so glad to have him do Ky's surgeries and spending that month in CICU would NOT have been the same without him. We still keep in touch with him... kind of miss the guy but not the heart stuff that is takes to bring us back to him!!
ReplyDeleteI've been reading your blog for a while now but had no idea you were in the Cinci area! Small world! We have lots of experience with CCHMC - they saved our youngest son's life. I'll keep Trista in my prayers!!!
ReplyDeleteI would love for us to get together sometime. I live in Taylor Mill, Ky. I'm not sure if you are in Ky or Oh but either way, I'd like the chance to meet you. Hope things are good well!!!
