Cardiology Update

Trista's appointment went really well yesterday. When we first got there they had to sedate her. They tried giving it to her orally, but she spit it all out. So, the next route was a shot. MAN - she was NOT a happy camper!!!

It took about 15-20 minutes before she was in sleepy land. Once she was asleep, they started the Echo. It lasted about an hour. After the Echo, she had an EKG. This test was very quick. Start to finish only lasted about 15 minutes total.

Next, we had to wake her up. She was so groggy and I could tell she didn't feel very good. She didn't want to eat or drink - poor thing was exhausted from everything.

After that, we headed over to the Cardiology clinic to talk to her Cardiologist. It's always nice when he walks in with a smile over his face. The relief that came over me was overwhelming. He said that all of her tests came out very good. She does has some leakage, but nothing too alarming as of now. He does not anticipate any surgeries in the near future. Her next procedure probably won't be until she's in her teenage years. YEAH!!!

It was also really surreal seeing him again and having all of these tests run. Whenever I'm on the cardiac floor it takes me back to those long days that we spent in the ICU praying for Trista to survive. The Cardiologist even said to us that he can't believe how well she is doing considering where she came from. He called her a true miracle.
Of course, we already knew that :) Thanks to everyone for all of the prayers.

Right now I'm going to hang out with my kiddos - we all have a snow day. Enjoy the rest of your day too! :)
